August 15 set as deadline for club shirt orders

If you are interested in ordering an official, heirloom quality, one of a kind Wasatch Camera Club golf shirt it's time to bust into the photo gear piggy bank and count up $45. Due to cost constraints, we're not holding these in inventory, we're just going to do a special order. With it being August already, I'm planning on closing the order opportunity mid-month.

To order just click on the Merchandise tab on the top of the website. The shirts are Nike Dri-Fits and really nice. Mens and womens sizes are available for 45 scoots. Yes, you will be making a small contribution to you club's modest, but sincere treasury. So don't forget to order by midnight tonight. If the servers are too hot please keep trying at 30 minute intervals until you get in!!!

Members Photo Critique

- An opportunity to discuss your work and receive suggestions from your fellow members. Bring 3 - 6 images on a memory stick and time permitting we'll have a good exchange of views about how to improve and learn about various techniques as well.
  
  Jim Berneike is promoting this type of meeting and offers this background:
  
  You know the feeling, you’ve been to the club’s competitions and felt like you’d like to add your own two cents to the critique, so, in that vein the Wasatch Camera Club is going to re-introduce Member Photo Critiques so you can do just that.
  
  Critiquing others photos and having your own critiqued in a positive and lively social setting amongst your peers is a wonderful means to better understanding the way you feel about an image. We all have some type of visceral emotional reaction to an image, whether good, bad, or neutral – listening to other’s reactions is good exercise for bringing your own reaction to the surface of your intellect. If you have an opinion on the images that you see, then you have a voice that is worth hearing. Even if you don’t have much experience in critiquing, you can learn to do it, and the effect it will have on your understanding of an image can be very valuable.
  
  Please bring 3 to 6 of your images on a USB thumb drive prioritized in the order that you’d like them critiqued, at the beginning of the meeting we’ll evaluate the number of participants and how many images per member we have time to critique. Also, bring a positive attitude, an open mind, and a willingness to learn from others. Thanks, we'll see you at the meeting.
